Hi moms! Is your child in need of some new toddler lunch ideas? Don’t worry; I will share some lunch ideas with you today in this blog post that your toddlers will love.

puff pastry lunch ideas for toddlers

As mothers of young children, we all want to provide them with wholesome, nutrient-dense food that is optimal for their development.

Toddlers Lunch Ideas With Puff Pastry:

Puff pastry is particularly popular among adults as well as toddlers.

I would love to share some puff pastry lunch ideas for toddlers today, which I also made for toddler lunch.

    Ham & Cheese Puffs:

My toddler’s favorite lunch meal is delicious Ham and cheese Roll-Ups Puffs! This is a perfect food for toddlers and is suitable for children of all ages.

    Delicious Ham & Cheese Roll-Ups

Delicious Ham & Cheese Roll-Ups are made with puff pastry. They are a great lunch meal for toddlers! I want to feed my child as much healthy food as possible.

But we all need to have a treat meal once in a while, and these Ham and cheese roll-ups are our favorite option!

Made from shop-bought pastry (I do not make my pastry, but if you do, you can use that), these roll-ups or pinwheels are super easy to make and a great recipe to help kids out. Your kids will love this meal!

    Ingredients:

    • 1 sheet puff pastry
    • 75g / ⅓ cup tomato or pizza sauce
    • 6 slices cooked deli ham
    • 100g / 1 ½ cups grated cheddar cheese
    • 1 egg, thawed
    • ½ tsp dried mixed herbs

    Instructions:

    1. Set the oven’s temperature to 200°C (390°F).
    2. Put parchment paper on a baking pan.
    3. Spread the pizza sauce over the rolled-out puff pastry sheet.
    4. After placing the ham on top, scatter the grated cheese over it.
    5. The pastry should be rolled back up as compactly and tightly as possible.
    6. Slice the roll into eight pieces, each about an inch thick, and arrange them on a parchment-paper-lined baking sheet.
    7. Sprinkle some dry herbs on top of the roll-ups after brushing the outside with the beaten end.
    8. The pastry should be golden brown after 15 minutes of baking.
    9. Serve immediately or chill and keep in an airtight container for up to 24 hours.

    Puff Pastry Pizza:

I’ve been spending a lot of time in the kitchen lately, but I’ve found a simple solution for lunch – this puff pastry pizza is a winner!

    Puff Pastry Pizza

I love using my homemade veggie-packed tomato sauce to add a nutrient boost and rich flavor. This is a yummy and amazing lunch idea for your kids.

    Ingredients:

    • One sheet of puff pastry from the shop.
    • 1/4 cup homemade passata or tomato sauce loaded with vegetables.
    • 1/3 cup of your preferred shredded cheese.
    • Dried oregano, 1 teaspoon.
    • Optional: 1/4 cup of your preferred chopped vegetables for the garnish

    Instructions:

    1. Preheat the oven to 180°C. Put parchment paper on a baking tray.
    2. Make a big rectangle out of the puff pastry by unfolding it.
    3. Using a knife, mark the edges with a 1 cm border. Cover with a layer of vegetable-rich tomato sauce and top with shredded cheese.
    4. Add the oregano and optional vegetables.
    5. For a crispy finish, brush the edges with melted butter or milk.
    6. The edges should be puffy and golden brown after 20 minutes of baking.

Slice after a bit of cooling, then serve. Have fun, and hope your kids will love to eat it!

    Chicken puff pastry:

Chicken puff pastry was my favorite childhood meal. Now, I give this food to my toddler for his lunch, and my child eats it with great joy.

    Chicken puff pastry

A tasty and simple recipe, Chicken in Puff Pastry consists of small, golden, crunchy, buttery, and shaped triangles of puff pastry wrapped around a creamy chicken filling.

These can be frozen or baked immediately, making them a great after-school or lunchtime snack for kids.

    Ingredients:

    • Puff Pastry Sheets.
    • Chicken breasts.
    • Butter.
    • All-purpose Flour.
    • Yellow Mustard
    • Seasonings
    • Milk and egg.

    Instructions:

    1. Shred or chop the chicken. I am using cooked chicken, so this work is done very quickly. You can put the chicken in the food grinding machine and pulse it for a while, shred it by hand, or put it in your food mixing machine and shred it.
    2. Combine the ingredients. Add the flour, garlic powder, black pepper, and heated butter. Combine the mustard and milk to make the sauce. Stir to mix everything, then add the chicken. Taste the filling and make any necessary adjustments.

    Turkey and Vegetable Puff Pastry:

Another one of my kids’ favorite foods is this turkey and vegetable puff. It is a perfect snack for lunch or dinner.

    Turkey and Vegetable Puff Pastry

This leftover turkey and vegetable puff is a pastry made with vegetables, turkey, and paneer. It is cooked by cutting it into circles and rolling it into a puff dough. These are very tasty and require minimal effort to make.

Your kids will love this puff pastry! You can add any meat or poultry of your choice to it. Vegetarian kids can also enjoy it. I used leftover turkey and fresh vegetables this time, but you can also use ground turkey.

Store-bought puff pastry is used in the turkey puff pastry, but homemade pie crust or shortcrust pastry and puff pastry will also work.

    Ingredients:

    • Puff pastry
    • Turkey
    • Carrot
    • Onion
    • Bell pepper
    • Cabbage-shredded
    • Cheese
    • Salt

    Instructions:

    1. To begin utilizing a new recipe, familiarize yourself with the ingredient list and preparation steps by carefully reading the recipe and notes. You should defrost any store-bought puff pastry before using it.
    2. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line a baking tray with silicone mats or parchment paper.
    3. Let the turkey come to room temperature before chopping it up.
    4. Prepare all the vegetables for the filling by washing and chopping them.
    5. Clean and cut the vegetables. Add the carrots and onions to a hot pan with heated butter, stir, and cook for one minute. Mix in the turkey. After adding the cabbage and Shimla chilli, simmer for one minute. Add black pepper and salt for seasoning. Taste it to adjust the seasoning. Once out of the pan, let it cool.
    6. After rolling the puff pastry in the turkey filling, roll the cheese, grate it, and slice it. Then, place the cheese on a baking tray and brush it with egg wash. Serve after baking for 12 to 15 minutes.

    Conclusion:

These puff pastry-based toddler lunch options are delicious and healthy for your children.

Kids will love them, and they’re simple to make. You can create a novel and delicious choice by filling the puff pastry with your preferred filling.

Share your toddler’s favorite lunch meal with puff pastry in the comments.
