    1. Egyptian-Style Ground Turkey Shawarma

    Shawarma is a popular street food in Egypt. This ground turkey version is quick, healthy, and full of Middle Eastern spices.

    Egyptian-Style Ground Turkey Shawarma

    Ingredients:

    • 1 lb ground turkey
    • 1 small onion (grated)
    • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
    • 1 tsp cumin
    • 1 tsp paprika
    • 1/2 tsp turmeric
    • 1/2 tsp salt
    • 1/2 tsp black pepper
    • 1 tbsp lemon juice
    • 2 tbsp yogurt
    • 1 tbsp olive oil
    • Pita bread
    • Sliced cucumbers, tomatoes, and lettuce
    • Garlic sauce or tahini (for serving)

    Instructions:

    1. In a bowl, mix turkey, onion, garlic, lemon juice, yogurt, and spices.
    2. Heat olive oil in a pan and cook the turkey mixture until browned.
    3. Warm pita bread and fill with turkey, cucumbers, tomatoes, and lettuce.
    4. Drizzle with garlic sauce or tahini.
    5. Serve immediately and enjoy!

    2. Egyptian Spiced Turkey Meatballs (Kofta Daoud Basha)

    This dish is inspired by an old Egyptian favorite, Daoud Basha. These turkey meatballs are juicy and flavorful, simmered in a rich tomato sauce.

    Kofta Daoud Basha

    Ingredients:

    • 1 lb ground turkey
    • 1 small onion (finely chopped)
    • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
    • 1 tsp cumin
    • 1 tsp paprika
    • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
    • 1/2 tsp salt
    • 1/2 tsp black pepper
    • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
    • 1 egg
    • 1 tbsp olive oil
    • 1 cup tomato sauce
    • 1/2 cup water
    • Fresh cilantro (for garnish)

    Instructions:

    1. In a bowl, combine turkey, onion, garlic, spices, breadcrumbs, and egg. Mix well.
    2. Shape into small meatballs.
    3. Heat olive oil in a pan and cook meatballs until browned.
    4. Pour in tomato sauce and water, then simmer for 15 minutes.
    5. Serve over flatbread or rice & garnish with cilantro.

    3. Egyptian-Style Stuffed Bell Peppers (Mahshi)

    Mahshi is one of the best traditional Egyptian dishes where vegetables are stuffed with flavorful meat and rice. Here’s an easy turkey version.

    Egyptian-Style Stuffed Bell Peppers (Mahshi)

    Ingredients:

    • 4 bell peppers (any color)
    • 1/2 lb ground turkey
    • 1/2 cup cooked rice
    • 1 small onion (chopped)
    • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
    • 1 tsp cumin
    • 1 tsp allspice
    • 1/2 tsp salt
    • 1/2 tsp black pepper
    • 1/2 cup tomato sauce
    • 1/2 cup water
    • 1 tbsp olive oil

    Instructions:

    1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
    2. Cut tops off bell peppers and remove seeds.
    3. In a pan, cook turkey, onion, and garlic until browned.
    4. Add spices, rice, and half the tomato sauce. Stir well.
    5. Stuff the mixture into bell peppers and place in a baking dish.
    6. Mix the remaining tomato sauce with water and pour over peppers.
    7. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
    8. Serve hot with yogurt sauce.
